A botanical gem on the edge of the city centre was built in the autumn of 2000 in the tradition of the Heilbronn garden culture and the former city fruit growers. On the two hectare area there is an information centre with an arboretum created from native fruit wood, fruit trees and bushes as well as school and exhibition gardens.
There is also a variety of historical garden cottages and summer houses from different epochs like the late Middle Ages, the Biedermeier and Wilhelminian times.
The creation should especially introduce young people to gardening and fruit growing in cooperation with playgroups and schools. Adults can acquire, deepen and put their expert knowledge into practice, or simply enjoy the nature and relax.
As well as the initiative of the Förderverein Garten- und Baukultur Heilbronn that the garden looks after, different events also take place here. In addition to the “culinary Sunday garden”, you can visit the orchard for market events like the “Autumn Market”. Tours can also be booked.
